New to Singapore? Been here a while? Always choose the same dishes in the hawker market? Wonder what those things are that you see in the wet market? This is the tour for you.

Our guide will tell us the history of street food in Singapore and explain the many ways in which the local coffee can be served. We will of course get to sample some local delights, including the famous custard tarts. After enjoying the local food we'll head to the wet market to see the wonderful array of fruit, vegetables and interesting live produce and learn about different Chinese dried goods and spices.

Next, we hit the streets to hear about the history and some of the heritage brands available in this historical district. There will also be a visit to a Chinese clan association.

Finally for lunch, at your own expense, we will end up at one of Singapore's most famous hawker centres where Anthony Bourdain liked to eat when he visited. Meeting point to be confirmed by email after registration.
