WORKSHOP: JAPANESE BOOK BINDING

This 3-hour workshop is set in a lovely design studio where you will design a book cover with your own personal flair and then using a hammer and string you will learn the Japanese craft of Yotsumei Toji.

Yotsumei Toji, or 4-hole binding, is a Japanese stab-binding technique that creates a book with a spine similar to perfect binding minus the involvement of glue. In its place is the use of strings or twines that hold the pages of the book together and at the end of the workshop you will have a beautiful unique and personalised notebook for you to use with joy.
